I looked into all this for a trip last Fall to England and Wales. All very confusing and bemusing. Reviewers had
differing ideas, etc. In the end, we just used Verizon's $10 per day used option. Used it when needed for GPS, on one
phone only. Once started for a day, second phone used local hot spot from first and we did what we needed. Every place
we stayed had Wi-Fi and our phones have call over internet option. So we were really connected adequately with few $10 days.
Really quite freeing, compared to past experiences.
