I will go with His Mooseness’s recommendation. Brexit is the gift that keeps on 
giving, so the free roaming within the EU no longer applies in the UK. Your 
best bet is to look into the deals from your US provider. When we go to the US 
mainland, we do not bother with e-sims etc., just relying on wifi and the 
occasional roaming. When we go to Puerto Rico, we do buy a local e-sim because 
roaming there is ridiculously expensive.
