Martin,

We went to Croatia and Slovenia in April. WiFi was everywhere but very slow in
some hotels. We get switching it off on our phones and using 4G.

Beware on car hire. We hired at Zagreb airport. We are used to hiring cars in
the EU and being able to take them into any EU country without extra charge.
Every company charged extra if you wanted to drive into Slovenia - typically
€15 per day of rental and you pay for the whole rental period even if you only
leave Croatia for a day. Also seemed to be very keen on finding “damage “ to
the car that was there when you collected it. The one we hired from gave you a
damage price list with extortionate costs for the smallest mark. Take a video
before you leave. Europcar offer “large saloons” which we booked, but actually
don’t have any in their fleet.

Don’t be put off though. Still lovely countries to visit.
