Ah yes - well, I have access to a really (really) cheap
manual version of this lens. The optical design only appears to be
every so slightly altered, literally just some element spacing etc.
I can't imagine a major difference, rather simply one of those
"persuit of perfection" things.
I am happy to assume that both lenses will have very, very similar
performance.
