At 1:40? Duh. Of course the 80/4.0 is ging to be poor at 1:40, it's
made for 1:1. That's why the
135/4.5 appears better. Also, GAry notes "slight pincusion
distortion", but in this lens'
intended range it should have zero distortion, since it's supposed to
be the perfect slide
copying lens.
At 1:2 to 2:1 the 80/4.0 should pretty much be without peer in the
world of "mere mortal"
lenses - I think that only the Ultra Micro Nikkor lenses should best
it in terms of
resolution.
Am I wrong?
