The first statement is not quite an accurate summary of the discussion
however. My experience is that MY 200/f4 can be made to produce results
that I am happy with, but in very critical situations (mainly slow shutter
speeds), I have to take more than the usual precautions by using a long
lens support and my tripod. Even then, at its sharpest it is not equal to
a 50/1.8 or 50/3.5 macro, but how many lenses are? Nevertheless, I am
satisfied for now with the results of the 200/f4, doing what I am doing,
and the results are not poor.
Barry, please let us know how you compare the 200/4 and 200/5 after you've
found your brick wall.
Cheers,
Joel
