Hi guys,
I noticed that over the last two days a lot of discussion is going on
concerning the (supposedly) poor quality of Olympus' fixed length 200mm
lenses.
I have never used any of these two fixed lengths 200mm lenses, but I really
love the quality of the pictures I get with my 65/200 F4 zoom @ 200mm. Also,
it has a close focusing mechanism which is lovely for getting close-up
shots.
Does anyone have some test data (Gary?) for comparing the zoom against those
two fixed length lenses?
For the ones that are considering buying a 200mm lens: the zoom is quite
heavy (730 grams, if memory serves me right), but it has a very, very useful
range from almost a standard lens until a fair telephoto focal range;
including the very popular 85, 100 and 135 mm lengths.
Ah, concerning the filter size: it takes 55mm filters, so the one who
considered the F5 fixed 200mm for its 49mm filter will have to keep that in
mind...
Hope this helps,
Olaf
