Everything done in PS, converted immediately to 16 bit. Although I do use ACR
on original out of camera JPEGs from the
WB650, I almost never use it on web posted JPEGs.
Masking wasn't difficult with this subject. The Quick Selection tool did a fine
job on the body/wings that I fine tuned
on the antennae at larger than 100%, just a few moments.
Order of layers, bottom to top:
Background
NeatImage, settings adjusted by eye, i.e. not defaults.
Focus Magic OOF, 3 pixel radius (Quite high for such a small image. This and
all later layers masked to insect alone.)
Levels
LCE
Curves
Focus Magic OOF, 1 pixel radius
Moose
