I tried to make it clear that I was talking only about clarity of
detail. I think the standardized test subjects on DPR and other test
sites that do something similar are the best way to compare some aspects
of IQ, but not others.

I freely admit that I am less sensitive to subtle color differences than
your are. That's why I specially commented that I didn't think the test
images were good enough for comparative color evaluation.
I was mostly writing about what have been commonly expressed weaknesses
of 4/3 format cameras, slightly fuzzy images at the pixel level and
poorer high ISO noise than many competitors. The G1 is the first
indication that 4/3 designers have overcome these weaknesses.
