OK, so I started this all off when I took the topic about Johan's model
(Linn) and morphed it into something completely different. Now,
however, it really has got my interest up a whole lot more !
Due mostly to that auction website, I have managed to collect a large
amount of old and obsolete Audio-Video gear. Unfortunately, my other
half isn't as enthusiastic as I am and she calls it "Jon's Museum of
Sh*te". Still, I find it fascinating. So far, the list of stuff in
"the museum" is ...
- Sony HiFi BetaMax recorder.
- 2 x LaserDisc players
- CED VideoDisc Player (these things were quite popular in the USA I
think, but are VERY rare here in the UK. And fantastic technology !)
- Sony Reel-to-Reel 3-Head Tape Recorder (in need of a little TLC, belts
perished, etc.)
- Philips DCC730 - yes, I too have A DCC recorder !
- And last, but not least, a Philips DCC170. For Paul, and anyone else
interested, that is a PORTABLE DCC Recorder ! They also made a Portable
DCC Player-only as well (can't remember the model numder). Both were
about the size of a standard cassette walkman, just a little thicker.
On the current wish-list for "the museum" is an Elcaset, and one that
DEFINITELY won't get in the door past the Chief Domestic Officer - a
1-inch Reel-To-Reel Video Recorder !
Is this normal behaviour for someone interested in OMs ? Is it a
coincidence ?! "Stop Me, before I spend again !"
