I've got one of these inexpensive Bogens

Tough as nails and probbly capable of supporting an 8x10 view camera but
has never inspired me very much to actually carry it around. Weighs 21
ounces
Walt recommends these hiking sticks/monopods.

Light weight and attractive price and I think I'll buy one one of these
days. I think the 2 section model is a bit long when collapsed so I'd
go for the three section. Weighs only half as much as the Bogen at 11
ounces. Maybe I'd actually carry this one around.
