I use a Manfrotto Digi monopod with Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head. The monopod
alone is relatively inexpensive and very sturdy. Yes it has been used as a
walking stick once or twice. Most importantly, it holds up well with the ZD
50-200 which is a hefty lens.
