I have a Manfrotto 352RC, a largish ball head which shifts somewhat and
which requires a little anticipation of movement. Chiz, chiz, as the
boy said in "How To Be Topp".

Any ball head users have trouble with the head shifting when being
locked down? I have to anticipate the shift and focus a couple degrees
to the left before locking down. It usually takes a few tries to end up
with the proper frame with a telephoto mounted. I'm using a manfrotto
proball 308. Maybe I should try something else? The $300 heads aren't
in
the budget. Is there anything better for under $100? I need a ball head
for packability. The Giotto medium head looks pretty good.
