Funny! I have had the same feeling as iwert. It seems I tend to get less
vibration when I handhold the OM-1 than with the OM-4 at longer shutter
speeds. Probably Moose is right that there is some difference in my
technique. Or is there a difference between the release buttons? I shall
have to test this further.

BTW, are there any other users who observed the following: In my subjective
feeling, I can easily use an OM1 or 2 + 40mm at 1/30 freehand, however I
have the feeling I am getting more unscharp(er) shots with the OM4 (and 3?).
Could this be because of the double mirror?
The double mirror doesn't inherently have any effect on sharpness. If your
OM-4 shots were consistently less sharp, it might be that the mirror is
out of adjustment, which can happen to any SLR
If there is no difference at faster shutter speeds, it seems likely that
either your holding/shooting technique with the two different shutter
release styles differs enough to make a difference or it is random results
from doing something difficult. I know lots of people claim to be able to
hand-hold speeds below 1/60 sec. successfully. I know that I have done so,
especially with cameras with tiny shutter mechanisms and soft releases,
like the XA. On the other hand, I believe that there are VERY few people
who can hand hold an SLR at 1/30 or below CONSISTENTLY, shot after shot.
Unless you've done a lot of testing, you could be looking at that kind of
variability.
