I bought vuescan when I got my new HP 20 scanner. Everyone raved about it.
Everything I've scanned with vuescan has this weird "noisy" pattern across
the image. I have no idea why or what I'm doing wrong, but I sort of "gave
up" on the project for now. Anyone heard of this? Given that I don't print
digital, the scanner software that came with the HP is probably just as
good- well, it works, and there's no "noise". Oh well...

>Is there any good reason to use Vuescan instead of the Nikon software?
>Based on C.H.Ling's and my performance experience, no. Others may differ,
particularly if >>performance is not your primary goal.
>C.H. said he likes Vuescan for certain film. Also, Vuescan is available
for MacOS X, but >NikonScan is not.
>Finally, Vuescan works with many scanners. If you have two or more
scanners, and don't want >to learn two or more scanner drivers, Vuescan may
be worth the poorer performance.
