Acer, I also have one of these. Recommend shooting at f/11 and f/8 if you
can get away with it for the DOF. f/16 will be at or near the diffraction
limit. Mine is very sharp at the smaller apertures also. Keep in mind the
DOF on a 28mm wide-angle is pretty deep anyway compared to the same
aperture on a 50mm.
Also recommend taking the macro with you. A lot of the responses have
assumed using it much like a standard 50mm . . . which you could certainly
do, especially if it has a character to it you want to exploit . . . but
the 50/1.8 or 50/1.4 would probably be better for general shooting. You
may not use it, but at least you'll have it if you want to macro something
about a small interior detail, such as a small gargoyle face somewhere!
Heck I would even take a tele!
