Directions - I reckon it has to do with the position of the sun, southern
hemisphere it is North at true midday (ignore this daylight saving stuff),
northern hemisphere it is South at true midday.

My take on image sharpness and rendering - I wish my mind was as sharp
as the ZUIKO's and M ZUIKOs I'm using! My mind is the limiting factor.
No kidding! I wish I was as sharp as I thought I used to be.
The meeting with the Schnozz was great, fantastic to catch up in
person after ~30 years of on-line only chat via this list - maybe
he'll get back here next year for the warmer weather!
Ditto!!! We tried to get Andrew to join in, but health issues got in the
way. Besides, he probably never did like me very much anyway. I'm
certainly
not everyone's cup-o-tea. Or espresso.
As to next year for the warmer weather? I'm tempted, very tempted. I don't
think my daughter will be here next year, but it would be nice if I
were on
tour next year and got booked for a gig or two here.
Interesting thing, we briefly talked about it, but the challenge has
continued and I'm EXTREMELY frustrated about it. I have had zero sense of
direction since landing in Sydney. My built-in compass is completely
broken.
Even when the maps and compasses say I'm going a particular direction, my
brain just isn't comprehending it and it goes "I got nuttin."
Everything can
be pointing due north and my brain says "uh, really?" It's either the fact
that I'm in the southern hemisphere where the sun goes backwards, or that
slight direction-finding bit of iron in my brain is pointing the wrong
way.
Whatever it is, it's not getting any better and absolutely nothing I've
tried has succeeded.
I've been compass confused two other times in my life, once in
Ireland, and
the other in Columbus, Ohio. But those were just a matter of a few hours.
This has been over a week. Here in downtown Melbourne, I'm totally lost.
Strange, strange, strange.
Maybe the earth really is flat and I'm about to fall off the edge.
