Thanks much for thinking about this, Piers. I think indeed there was a newer AF version, now that I reflect on it. I bet you are correct. IIRC ,however I believe Walt liked the Tamron 28-105/2.8. I remember looking at that lens in my first B&H catalog and pleased one could purchase a brand spanking new lens for OM. This was just a year or so after I joined the list. I posted a question as had others and recall a few "doorstop" comments or some such and found the Photodo MTF score 2.4. I am not saying one number can reflect the use of a lens to a given photog but it does show the lens has some limitations. I don't recall if he liked the 35-105/2.8 too. A reasonable Waltism or two included. http://lists.tako.de/Olympus-OM/2004-09/msg01673.html Photodo: http://www.photodo.com/lens/Tamron-AF-28105mm-f28-LD-Aspherical-IF-476 Mike -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ |
