Chris,
I just finished watching the interview with Eric. It was the best
half-hour I have spent in a long time. His voice hasn't changed at all
since that interview. And, the sense of humor is still intact. I knew a
little of the background, but that video brought me up to date.
Thanks for brightening my evening!
Ever since I have known him, he has carried a parakeet wherever he
goes. I assume the earlier one passed away, because he said the present
one is about 1 1/2 years old.

If so he’s definitely an interesting chap.

Thanks for commenting, Chris. He is an interesting fellow to engage in conversation.
When I first saw him around the airport, he was flying a low-powered small plane of his
own design, called "Fred", though I can't recall what the acronym meant.
Recently, he has had a Luscombe.

Yes, that looks good, Jim.
I had noticed his cap badge. It’s the one used on the caps of non-commissioned
officers and airmen. I had one for the first 4 months of my RAF career, before I completed
officer training and was commissioned – May 75.

I have come to the conclusion that, once we pass 85, we deserve the courtesy of
being shown in B&W. Here is Eric and his bird in this fashion. Chris, note
the RAF emblem on his cap.
