I've never even looked at a GX7 until just now on DPReview. What I see there that interests me is the tiltable EVF

Perfectly good for this right-eyed shooter, too. Keeps the nose off the LCD. Allows both eyes open shooting, Ala Leica,
et. al., although I seldom found that useful - too long a (D)SLR user? The tiltable part hasn't added anything for me in
practice.
The power switch solution is nice but doesn't excite me at all. I can never recall drawing my camera and wanting to
instantly switch on to capture some fast moving action.
I often spend several hours out and about, sometimes shooting, sometimes not for several minutes. Although I carry extra
batteries, I like to conserve battery power. Having a camera where it can be off until I need it, then on before it hits
my eye, without thinking, is simply nice.
The E-M5 II adds a Quick Sleep function that isn't on the Mark I or the E-M1. When in EVF only mode, it goes to sleep in
a handful of seconds when not in use, wakes instantly when the shutter button is half pressed. I'm going to be trying
that as an alternative to the on/off switch.
Maitani apparently thought that was so important that he left the power switches off the OM-2s and later electronic
cameras. The only thing that ever did for me was cause me to be a bit ticked by having to remove batteries from
infrequently used cameras. There is an even better solution to that... a power switch that *I* can choose to leave on
or off depending on my use of the camera.
Yup.
