But did you read the "most liked negative review" here?

The guy rates it 3 stars but he is not a happy camper. He says it takes 90
turns of the knobs to set it up.
And that is indeed the downside. How anyone feels about it will vary. Doesn't bother Mike. I thought the nine locking
rings on my first Velbon CF would drive me round the bend, and the thought of twelve ....EEEEK.
But a lot depends on how one works. I very seldom go out by myself, with the sole purpose of leisurely photography. I'm
usually walking with someone(s) else, patient with my photo foibles, but still, I tend to want to set up and take down
pretty quickly. (Seems to me supple wrists and resistance to repetitive stress injuries would be useful.)
The last time he used it he forgot to tighten one of them sufficiently and it dropped his Nikon D600 and Tamron 24-70
onto a rock.
OUCH!!!
Flip locks are generally surer, as it's visually clear when they are locked. Internally extending legs, as in the Velbon
UT 45 series, have no visual indication, but it's pretty easy to be sure they are all the way locked.
