Good luck with it. I hope it serves well. I have been reasonably happy with it
for over 1 year. I wish there were more formalized tests of vibration
resistance etc for pods.
I read several quite in depth reviews before deciding to try it. It is a
compromise like all travel pods. I bet I would rarely purchase anything if I
looked at the most negative review from owners. One can loosen all the sections
with one twist but they do all need to be tightened. One should not attach any
gear until you are sure not to become a victim of shrinking leg syndrome. I
don't think a pod has to be dope proof. If using heavier gear would of course
remove the Ctr colum and not extend the last leg section--and consider adding a
counter weight on the carabineer that touches the ground. I use one of these or
a cam bag:

(oops, handy hooker--not what I called them)
With an L bracket, a lighter cam can be held securely almost at ground level
with the Sirui.
That be said, I would have made the legs contain 25% more mass and perhaps
slightly larger diameter like Moose's. Moose's pod amazingly min packing length
is about the same. Another neg review at B&H of the T25X complained there is
movement when hitting the shutter--duh--use remote release or self timer. I can
get away with that with my big Gitzo, but this is a smallish travel 'pod.
Moose didn't like the off center center column in Chuck's original link, but
that is how the Gitzo Ex series works as well. The Ctr column can thus be
cantilevered off to the side w/o being fully extended. I suspect a small amount
of stability is sacrificed for this nice macro feature, but I rather like it.
I am glad Cai is making progress.

I was so impressed by the review I have just ordered one (sirui t25X) I had
been considering the velbon but the sirui is lighter and carbon and has enough
features to keep me satisfied.
Off to Wales again soon so will have a chance to test it out then.

BTW for non facebook users and followers of Cai's progress which has pretty
much been stable for the last few years, he had an operation last week to close
the stoma in his trachea, the trachestomy tube itself was removed five years
ago and with the words "it will close itself in an hour" ringing in my ears we
waited, it didn't close, so we assumed he still needed it but now we have taken
the plunge and closed it. His sats (oxygen level) is fine and we hope it will
stay that way if he gets sick. Cai originally had the tracheostomy because of
paralised vocal chords when born however they are working fine now - he got
himself up and was on the toilet at 6am this morning and we could hear him
singing to himself quite clearly two stories higher up. Next chapter now in
his story is to learn to drink - he now eats all his food by mouth provided its
pureed fine enough.
