Since you already have the V-ED, I don't think you need another one for
negatives. In searching of solution to fix my 4000ED I found the SA-21 can
be converted to SA-30. I can't test it now as my 4000ED is death but it
seems work as many people were talking about this:

Of couse, there is no pickup roller at the back so you have to take care of
this.
