Of course they were SLRs. They had a single lens for viewing and taking
regardless of whether the lens itself was interchangeable. They were
also reflex cameras since they had a mirror. A reminder that the
acronym means: Single Lens Reflex. Nothing in that description says
anything about interchangeability.
