Guess I'm spoiled living in an area with an Electric Co-op. My home is
large, well insulated, built on a North/South orientation to avoid direct
exposure to the sun's heat, has heat pumps and our electric bills are
significantly less than the examples shown in the article.
Yes, perhaps spoiled and fortunate, even though it gets really hot in the
summer time.
On another similar topic, we are currently doing rain dances three times a
day. Under normal conditions we would have had somewhere around 25 inches
of rain at this point in the year. So far this year we are at about 7
inches. This becomes more personally important when your water supply for
your home is rainwater collection. Our collection tank is at about 15 to 20%
of capacity. That should carry us for another 6 weeks or so. Keep on
dancing!
