I suspect they'd close it if it got that blowy. It used to run all
year round, though it's only operated in Summer now. See on the banks
where the mud ends and the grass starts? That's where the spring tide
rises to. Apparently, if you run it at high tide then, the girders
underneath the gondola skim the water and it bubbles up through the
deck. Now that would be disconcerting!
