Yes, I know I said the opposite - but that was regarding Edema, not
bending, which is stretching of the quadriceps.
Stretching a muscle makes it grow, just as contracting does (isotonic
/ isometric).
Find yourself a hard and tough wooden chair.
But ask him first !
