Hi all,
Wow, all of this information is excellent and a BIG eye opener!
I had figured the WB to work differently, and would never have guessed
(without RTFM-ing, that is) the implementation as explained by Chuck.
Good to know all this!
I think I'll give Chuck's proposed approach a go: set it to "daylight"
WB (and override that when shooting indoors, without flash), and to RAW
+ JPEG mode. The downside: my smart media slot is damaged (one of the
pins broke off), so I'll have to make-do with the XD slot, and last time
I checked, XD cards have a max. of 2GB. Anyway, that'll mean more often
downloading to the computer then...
Anyway: I must say that I was previously almost always very satisfied
with the results my C2020 Zoom gave me, and that this has much less
often been the case for the E-500. Good to know some of the possible
reasons for that! I now know what to experiment with, and in which way,
so I shall do so, and I'm curious as to the results.
Cheers!
Olafo
