I don't know if AG gave Ektar 100 a shot yet or not. I think I would have remembered that. I recall he was going to order some till a slide work-flow issue took over. The Ektar when scanned on the Frontier result in slightly ruddy skin tones---less so than velvia. The grain in clearely finer than Portra 160VC. The ektar does not tolerate underexposure as well as the UC 100--shadows muddy up. The ektar is very nice but overall I prefer the 100 UC for what I need. It is a moot point as it is no longer made. There may be many scanner specific issues and spectral sensitivities differences can be eleminated by profiling of course. The Portra 400 NC-3 and VC-3 are said to scan well. I had so much VC-2 in the freezer I can't comment yet. Mike http://www.adorama.com/alc/article/Product-Review-Kodak-Ektar-100-120-Roll-Film-Test- This raises the question of which 100 and 400 films today are the best for scanning.
