I've tended to shy away from flash work in recent years, but when I was a
reporter/editor, I used to shoot all the time with a cheap little vivitar flash
in one hand and a camera in the other. Inside at rubber chicken dinners or
outside at train wrecks. I don't recall exactly how I did it, but I do recall
it wasn't hard and it wasn't a hassle.
Time for a little re-education. <g>
