Jim,
I like that one too. I don't dislike the other and will take a peek
at both on my other monitor. The first one looks sort of "printed
down" in the old darkroom jargon. I would be tempted to play with the
Highlight-Shadow tool to bring up the middle values ever so slightly.
I'm guessing that the whites don't hit 255, which is why they hold
their detail and I wouldn't want to move the exposure to the right.
But I might like to move the pixel mountain a bit to the right.
A BW version of the first might be quite nice too.
The second one is probably more "successful" in a standard way. It's
the one they'd use in the catalog. But I find the first one a little
more interesting.
