But lens profiles are based on the film/sensor form factor. Therefore,
the data I supplied for the 24/2.8 is only usable on full frame digital
or 35mm film. If you want to use a 24/2.8 on a 4/3 camera someone will
have to submit a separate test. Likewise, it could not be used with a
Canon small sensor DSLR.
I also discovered a bug in PTLens in that the 24/2.8 profile is not
accessible to you if you declare that you're using an Olympus 35mm film
image. All that appears once you've chosen Olympus SLR is DZ lenses
even though you also say "35mm film". But if you choose Canon or Pentax
SLR all the 35mm primes in the database are selectable. The Olympus
related bug also continues further in that, having once chosen Olympus
SLR and 35mm film if you then go back and change the camera to Canon SLR
PTLens will go catatonic with respect to distortion correction and
disable all distortion correction selections. The only way out is to
exit and restart. But this latter half of the bug only occurs on the
standalone version and not on the PS plug-in. As a practical matter,
however, you could tell it that the scanned OM film image was really a
Canon 5D image. It wouldn't know the difference and would allow access
to the 24/2.8 profile. Note that PTLens requires you to disable camera
and/or model # and/or lens type detection in the EXIF if you're going to
play games with these paramaters.
I've reported the bug to the author but not heard back yet.
