Here's a couple of the (somewhat) better ones I took:

The first (moving into totality) was shot with a legacy 300/4.5 Zuiko,
the second (moving out of totality) with the new DZ 50-200 SWD I just
acquired. Minimal PP, other than a little noise reduction (shot at ISO
800). Focus was a PITA -- due to a combination of twitchy MF
('specially on the DZ, which has a short focusing throw) and thermal
contraction of the lenses, focus kept shifting. Taping it down wouldn't
have helped, natch.
I was also using my one and only tripod, a Manfrotto 055, which mebbe
wasn't quite solid enough for what I was trying to do. Oh well, live
and learn. Perhaps I'll do better in Dec. 2010.
I also tried doing some bracketed stuff for HDR processing, but
unfortunately, the longish exposures are "smeared" enough that the HDR
program I'm using (Photomatix Pro) just isn't up to the task. I haven't
looked at all of 'em yet, but I'm not hopeful.
The remote cable release was a good thing, and the Petzl Tactikka Plus
LED headlamp I used to see the controls was the best damn thing about
the whole evening. Should've bought one of those headlamps years ago
(but they weren't as small, lightweight, bright or cool as they are
now). Possibly the best $38.00 CDN I've ever spent. For those on the
List who are Canucks, it's available at MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op;
www.mec.ca), should you be interested. Also available at www.rei.com
for the U.S. folks, around $42.95 USD.
