I don't think so Chuck. I had the hood extended and a dish towel
draped over the camera/lens when I wasn't taking a shot.

Even with the hood extended it can happens to have the front
element fogged up. After the first time it happened to me,
I always use a piece of cardboard longer than the hood rolled
up on the outside of the hood.
