There are a couple of opportunities that I am
considering but do not know how I should price them.
First is a local company that is looking to photograph
their products for web/print. The guy wants to give me
products in batches. The company currently uses photos
taken off the net and wants now to present them in a
different/unique way.
Second is a national company/studio? that is seeking
photographers to cover places such as OH, PA, NY, NJ,
etc. I came across a post on Craigslist and contacted
them. They have some criteria for equipment which I
believe I can meet. I contacted them and they sent me
a questionairre. One of the questions is "How much are
you looking for?" (financial arrangements). I am not
sure if this is a good opportunity since these people
seem to mass market photography through major bridal
shops such as David's Bridal.
There are a lot of places like this - who farm out
work because they are too big or just a "corporation"
who's ownership/management may not know the first
thing about photography.
As I start to market myself - I am looking for
opportunities such as the ones above to get my name
out. Locally there seems to be an over abundance of
photographers - seems like everyone and their brother
is "professional". Therefore locally it might be more
of a challenge.
Thanks.
