I've been singing the praises of Swiffer Dusters for cleaning cameras
for quite some time now. But you've got more guts than me. The one
thing I haven't used it on is the sensor. I don't know what chemicals
are on the Swiffer and what might react with whatever coatings are on
the sensor. Neither does Swiffer.
I emailed Swiffer telling them about my use of their product in cleaning
cameras and specifically asked if they'd sanction cleaning the sensor
and asking if they'd ever thought of going in the sensor dusting
business. They could make a special form of Swiffer Dusters and sell it
to photographers for 100 times what my wife is willing to pay to dust
the house with one. I got back a very nice note saying they hadn't a
clue if their product might damage a digital sensor but they were very
interested in such new product ideas.
How long do you think it will take for the E-1's sensor coatings to
catch the chicken pox? :-)
