> "rubber-ey" is my problem. That is a problem when the camera is level. Tilt it up 45 degrees, and it becomes more stiff, probably because it is reaching the end of its rope, so to speak. It's not the ultimate answer, but I don't find ball heads on monopods to be all that convenient.
