The distain is often deserved, but not always. Some of the ersatz
"Mexican", while not authentic, can be very good eating.
Fortunately, we have a restaurant here that actually reminds me of the
real thing. Tacos de Rajas is actually a couple of small tortillas de
maize, maybe 4 inches across, with strips of roasted mild green
peppers. Very close to those at El Rincon de la Lechuza in San Angel,
mmmmmmmmm. And a couple of others that aren't too much further off. Of
course, they serve burritos, but I don't have to order them....
