Hi,
As a new member to the mail lists, I would like to introduce myself.
My initial interest in photography came about 30 years ago and, since that
time, I have used various models of German and Japanese rangefinder cameras
procuded from the 30' to the 60' or, for a change, Swiss reflex cameras.
At this stage, You might wonder what I am doing in the Olypus mail ist.
Well, 10 years ago, during a visit to Chile, I had to let repair the shutter of
my Nikon S, showing some weakness precisely the day after my arrival. In the
shopping mall close to the repair workshop, there were some camerashops
selling used cameras and I quicly decided myself for an Olympus Pen F and its
three lenses to accompany me during my trip to Chiloe, in the south of Santiago.
As the results were more than satisfactory, and as I enjoyed the compactness of
the camera, I take either a Pen F or FT or a viewfinder Pen or one from the
"35" series when I want to travel "light".
Sometimes ago, I came across an Olympus Pen (an early version with one strap
lug) in a lot of cameras and I was happy to get one after a long research to
test it. Immediately, the seller, a retired camera dealer, told me that in
fact, it was a dummy Olympus Pen.
I had never heard about dummies Olympus Pen before.
Could any member of the mail list be kind enough to mrovide me with some
informatin or data on these dummies ?
Thank you very much
Jean-Pierre Vergine
