Since this is a wavelength level phenomenon, it is possible that the
angle at which the light hits the surface has an effect on response.
Since the light is crossing a boundary between mediums, there should be
diffraction effects of some sort. Thus a similar problem for different
electrophysical reasons? Just speculation. Would Sigma have produced
digital specific lenses for their Foveon sensor cameras if the sensor
worked equally well with lenses designed for 35mm? Could be just
marketing stuff, too.
