Someone has already pointed out that Dunedin is etymologically/toponymically
very close to Edinburgh.  May I point out that haggis is, far from
unsavoury, in reality extremely savoury (ie not sweet) and in my experience
also savoury (ie tasty).  As a further variant on the pie theme, it is
especially tasty when in batter, accompanied by potato sticks all deep fried
in beef dripping.  By potato sticks I mean what we call chips, but not what
others call chips, still less "fries". 

And, furthermore, if I may, haggis as is nowadays widely available even in
England, is not a stuffed sheep's stomach, but a manufactured monster size
sausage skin.  Haggis is to be found in human, not ovine stomachs.

I thought the NZ bit questionable, as it is about as far geographically from
the source as possible, although not as far culturally, sheepwise.

Then Les picked it up, perhaps without understanding the distinction that
had crept in.

I had haggis in a restaurant in some castle outside of Edinburgh 26 years
ago. I can't remember what it tasted like, but remember it as pretty
unsavory. Haggis pie is beyond by experience, and even, before today,
knowledge of its existence. Can't be right without the stomach, can it?
