Sometimes it's good to have big balls, not always though.

Good grief! I've got a Manfrotto 405 head (the BIG geared one) on
a 3221WN tripod, and the whole shebang weighs just under ten
pounds. And that includes the adjusting wrench for the leg locks
and the carrying strap. That's one helluva hefty ball head you've
got there!
