Dear all,
Bernd Moeller's comment about finding his PhD 'more a pain than real
joy' rang very true with me. Still a year or so to go for me but I can
hardly wait to finish! A couple of weekends ago, though, I managed to
get away from all thoughts of astronomy and theses for a very refreshing
and enjoyable weekend break in Croatia and Slovenia, which I thought I
would share the photos from:
http://www.worldtraveller.f9.co.uk/travel/balkans
Naturally the photos are taken with OM gear, an OM-1n with Zuikos 50/1.8
and 135/3.5, and Tokina 28/2.8. Film was Fuji Sensia. Unfortunately a
number of them were somewhat underexposed, causing me to wonder if my
meter is going, but luckily I didn't lose everything.
I'd long wanted to go to the former Yugoslavia and it certainly didn't
disappoint - Ljubljana is truly one of the most beautiful cities I've
been to. My photos don't come close to doing it justice and I am
already planning return visits to better capture what's there. It was
thickly laden with snow when I was there and I'd love to see it and
photograph it in the summer time.
Any comments and critique most welcome. I will probably trim the number
of photos on the web page eventually, but I need the passage of time to
divorce my memories from the creative results, and decide more
objectively what should stay and what should go.
Cheers,
Roger
