Suntour (RIP) is no longer in the high end bicycle business. Suntour (Japan)
went out of business a number of years ago. The name was revived and now is
used primarily on low end Tiawanese produced equpment, esp suspension forks.
The older Suntour stuff was excellent. The Superbe and Superbe Pro groups were
top of the line equipment. Maybe not quite as durable as Campy or the Shimano
Dura-ace of the time, but also considerably less expansive. Suntour was a very
small company in comparison with either Campy or Shimano. Really nice stuff
though, and a good value. The current Suntour does produce a Superbe model
crank in both double and triple configurations. Very nice quality and finish
work. For a few years there were rumours of reviving the Superbe line with a
full groupo, but it does not seem to be happening.
