You refer to "The Schwartz" served up by Yoghurt in Spaceballs?
Thanks for the non-grumpy answer. Maybe those little girls are softening
you up? I only had boys, so the little girl experience has only just
begun with my 1 & 2.5 year old grandaughters.
I'll admit to affection for my second Zuiko, a 100/2.8 silvernose, a
great portrait lens and I certainly used my third, a 35-70/3.6
silvernose alot for years. I was never especially impressed with the
original 50/1.8 that came with my first, and only new, OM-1, a pre MD
chrome beauty whose really icky foam damaged prism I just cleaned up.

So I've gone through the archives and found no treatise (or rant) on the beauty
and truth of silvernose/SCs (the lenses, not agschnozz)vs. the dark and
troublesome secrets of blacknose/MC lenses. Other than esthetics and lending
themselves to a cool name/acronym (schwartzschnozz is a bit unappealing), what
advantages might silvernose lenses have of which I am unaware?
NO, NO, NO! YOU HAD TO ASK!
1. The SC 100/2.8 has no equal in the Sharpness/Bokeh
department.
2. Smoother, warmer, less "sanitary" imaging. Essentially, SC
lenses have character that the newer MC lenses don't have the
same amount of. Remember, a "perfect" lens changes nothing from
the original scene. These less "perfect" lenses happen to
adjust the imaging just enough to please my pallet and my
artistic tastes--I don't take "record shots".
3. They look cool!
4. And, they've been what I could afford.
AG-I happen to like the Schwartz-Schnozz
