My favorite non-zuikoid silvernose is Tim Strawn, Kid Shelleen's evil
twin brother (both played by Lee Marvin) in "Cat Ballou".
So I've gone through the archives and found no treatise (or rant) on the
beauty and truth of silvernose/SCs (the lenses, not agschnozz) vs. the
dark and troublesome secrets of blacknose/MC lenses. I have several of
each and happily use them without usually thinking about it. I would
assume MC would result in some improvements in light transmission
(T-stop), flare control, resolution and/or contrast. Gary's tests seem
to generally bear this out. Other than esthetics and lending themselves
to a cool name/acronym (schwartzschnozz is a bit unappealing), what
advantages might silvernose lenses have of which I am unaware?
