Taking the top cover off of an SLR like the OM-4[T] is anything but simple. Getting one back on again can be even more difficult. All your controls protrude through it (notable exception: self-timer), it houses the prism, plus (IIRC) there's a flex circuit that snakes around under it to get to the controls. Having the proper tools and repair manual(s) for it isn't sufficient. Those who do this type of work for themselves (usually on very old classics) practice disassembling and reassembling several worthless dead carcasses of the same model before working on one destined for repair/restoration.
