I reckon that the purist street photog would have taken an OM1 or 2
with 35/2.8 or 40/2 (if you're feeling lucky). I am surprised that
you took a fully auto camera with an electric winder :>).

In Gothenburg, during the EU-riots this summer, I used a 4T, 50/1.8,
24/2.8, 100/2.8. (Don't own a winder)
I was for three days really caught in the middle of chaos,
cobblestones flying through the air, policehorses smashing people
into the walls, dogs biting demonstrants and eachother, and -
finally- the tragic shooting of three young men. I was there mainly
as one of 25 000 peaceful demonstrants, and for performing a play,
but of course taking pictures became my main occupation after a
while. (Wouldn't be on this list otherwise :-))
Got some nice pictures that were used at an exhibition over the happening.
What I wanted to say: an auto camera is pretty handy to have if you
want to take a picture of a policeman beating up a 16-year old girl
and many things at the same time are happening all around you.
