For a full-size tripod, you could try a Benbo or Uni-Loc. The legs and
centre column can be moved independently. On the lighter models, don't
clamp the centre column at one end - the camera will vibrate so much that
your pictures won't be sharp.
For a miniature tripod, you could try a Novoflex Minipod (go to
http://www.novoflex.de/html/products.htm and click Tripods). Each leg is
connected by a ball and socket mount.
