Here's the situation:
I installed NiMH batteries in an old 15V Control Pack and everything worked
fine after I got it back together. Now, however, when I put the Control Pack
on an MD1 and turn it on, either in single of continuous mode, it starts
shooting continuously. I have two MD1s and this happens on both of them and
my 18V Control Grip works fine, so I'm pretty sure it is the Control Pack.
Oddly, I can press the fire button down on the grip of the MD1 and it stops,
but I think it is still shorted b/c when I let go of the button, it starts
firing at a substantially slower rate (the longer I hold the button, the
slower the rate). I thought it was the settings on the single-off-continuous
switch, but I reset it, and it didn't help. I opened the Control Pack and
have looked for obvious shorts but don't see any. It worked properly after I
first installed the NiMH pack, so I don't think I installed the battery
improperly. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions?
Laslty, thanks to everybody who has provided advice on and off list. I like
to especially thank Clint for helping me diagnose a problem with an MD1,
provide part numbers for it, track down some other part numbers, and provide
other advice. I'm not a "member" of any other internet community, so I can't
compare, but this list is an amazing collection of knowledge, resources and
great people.
